Customers like the quality, functionality, and melt rate of the product. They mention it’s a strong solder for hobby projects, works well on heavier gauge wires, and melts fast. Some say it’s a good value for money. However, some customers have reported that the thickness is very thick and heavy.

Good solder, but price has increased by $2 in 6 months.
Purchased in May for a large scale RGB lighting project. Works great! It was very easy to use and had a low temperature melting point. Plenty of flux in the core to make a solid connection. Well, I went to order more at the old price of $5.49 and found the price increased 25% up to $7.53. Sorry, won’t be buying again unless the price drops. Found the same quality solder at the auto parts store for $5. I made the switch.

I bought many different kinds of solder for electric work and this is the best there is.
The best

Good, works as expected
Good quality solder happy with it and would buy again but would probably order it in a small diameter for solder small components

delivered 6/17/19! quality brand.
brand you can rely on for quality.needed some more. solder. so i got this ordered. i had misplaced/lost the. specs on my last roll of solder and im not very fluent with knowing my diameters. and lengths etc. or weights n how it converts to length. (i know how to its just typically. not a worthy enough task to expend efforts to figure out) in short. i got confuzed. order larger diameter than i needed but. ican use this for some other tasks i had planned.

You won’t be disappointed.
I bought this along with a soldering tool kit for my engineering classes in college, and it has not let me down. It is very easy to take off the solder and apply it to wherever you need to put it. I have been using it for about a year, and I still haven’t run out of it yet. Just a warning, it is on the thick side though so that it will not be the best for extremely precise soldering work.

worked fine. Would have bought a smaller Gauge
It was Solder, worked fine. Would have bought a smaller Gauge, but that was more due to my ignorance. This is more for heavy soldering like heatsinks, backplanes, things that need a lot of solder. Get a smaller gauge if you are just soldering resistors, wire splices, or stereo connectors.

Accurate description of Item
Soldering wiring in old 1998 minivan. Wiring harness completely failed. Trying to repair would seem crazyfor most people but I have succeeded many times in getting old cars to run again. The solder is good quality, melts and adheres well, so I am happy with it. Thanks – good product

up in smoke
Too much rosin and too little solder. The excessive amount of rosin (picture) gets the iron and working pieces all oily and actually interferes with solder adhesion to otherwise properly prepared surfaces. Worked a little bit better with my 40W iron than with a 30W or 180W – I was concerned that the latter might actually start a fire… and it did!Even using the 40W iron I have to clean the excess rosin from the iron itself and whatever parts or pads I am trying to connect. Due to the large amount of smoke/vapors also produced from the rosin, I recommend only using this product in a well ventilated area away from smoke detectors. On the the other hand, the smell is not unpleasant, so if you enjoy burning incense, and aren’t concerned about the trace metal vapors that are also released, this might be right up your alley.
