The best solder you can buy
I was recently running out of the 60/40 solder I had bought a few years ago for my guitar projects. I happened upon an old package of Kester leaded solder that my dad used many years ago for his occasional soldering projects. It flowed very well, solidified reliably, and the solder joints were consistently good. I eventually ran through my dad’s Kester solder and had to shop for another solder. I was surprised to find this Kester solder, and I ordered it right away.Note that I prefer this 0.05″ diameter, as it’s the same gauge as my father’s old solder, and it’s the standard size I’m used to. It’s helps me to flow more solder when I need it.This Kester solder flows just like the older solder, heating up very quickly and consistently. The difference I notice is that the solder takes a moment longer to solidify. I need to wait a little longer before making sure the joint is firming up. Not a criticism, just an observation.I expect to be using Kester solder for many years to come.

Fine Product
This solder is the go-to item for small parts. Works fine though I am always surprised how expensive it is.

You need lead in your diet!
We all have come to a conclusion that any level of lead exposure can lead to detrimental health outcomes. Having said that, In the world of electronics If you are like me you will agree that nothing comes close to leaded solder especially when you are dealing with antique electronics. Even with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive initiative (ROHS) lead free blah blah whatever you might call it.. You need to dab it with good old lead first to de-solder it. Having a pound of Kester 60/40 on your desk at all time is doctor recommended for fixing your antique electronics stuff.I have been using Kester all my life and I have been in this electronics business all my life. I would not buy any other soldering lead product other than Kester. It is the very best. It flows easily and makes your solder joints, balls, whatever shine better than your bald head. Play it safe. Always keep your fume extractor or poor man’s Salvaged old Desktop PC fan running on your desk whenever you use leaded solder and ROSIN flux.Rating the product with five stars – Recommended buy!

It’s Kesters. What more is there to say? As good as it gets
Kesters has been around for over a hundred years and this is why, very high quality products. Yes there are cheaper brands out there but Kesters gives consistent quality spool after spool after spool.
