Great gift idea.
Got this for my teenage grandson. Took him a few sessions to finish. He did need some adult guidance while building. After build completion, operating and playing the games is easy. Would recommend.

Educational but more complex than expected
Got this for a science minded kit, but we were a bit daunted by the complexity of the instructions. Maybe an older teen would be able to tackle this, but this looked incredibly challenging for me (an adult who is old enough to not be able to see small print) to help a tween, who likes science and video games, but would still have a hard time paying attention to this. The circuit wiring schematics look like what the actual electronics assemblymen receive. You need to already own a soldering tool, as well. The packaging is also just a small unmarked cardboard box full of circuits and plastic, so it is not really gift able, unless the recipient knows exactly what they’re in for already. The soldering tutorial in the instructions gave a really educational lesson on short circuits, and just a great understanding on how our electronics work in general, but overall this is an intense project for serious electronics aficionados or at least very patient parents with great eyesight and soldering guns!

Fun kit but not for kids
My son (11) is no stranger to soldering. He’s put a number of kits together both with help and by himself a number of times now of varying degrees of complexity.He’s also familiar with three out of the four this is supposed to mimic so he was excited to do it but what arrived was a lot more complex than anything he’s ever done before.I’d say this is a kit meant for adults or maybe very old teens.The instructions provided are not user-friendly and I would say, not even appropriate for most adults who don’t already have a strong familiarity of both electronics and soldering.In the end, I had to assemble it for him.

fun way to learn to solder
I’m evaluating this product from the perspective of someone who is experienced in soldering, who wishes to use this product to help my nephew learn to solder. First, I think it’s important that such a project end in something fun or useful as a motivator. For a pre-teen boy, a handheld game (no matter how crude) fits the bill. I was somewhat worried about the instructions, as these Chinese products can sometimes have horrible instructions or no instructions at all. I was pleasantly surprised. The English is not always perfect, but it generally understandable. Each step is accompanied by a useful photograph. “Gotchas” are pointed out, for example, which leg of an electrolytic capacitor is negative. There is a graphic showing what a good solder joint looks like, and examples of bad solder joints and what might cause them. All components are through-hole, and for the most part it seems like components are not crowded too tightly. (There is one area where the holes for the USB connector are quite close to the holes for another component, but the instructions call out this “gotcha” and instruct the builder to be careful not to block the other holes with overflow solder.) Of course, a worry with any kit is that parts will be missing – my kit included everything promised. All in all, very happy with quality of this kit!

DIY Soldering Game Kit, PEMENOL Soldering Project Kit Electronics Learning with Four Retro Games
I bought this as a STEM project to do with my son, I have been soldering electronics for decades professionally but he has about zero soldering skills and I figured it was time to teach him the basics of doing something he could enjoy afterward vs just some random breadboard of parts… With guidance he was able to get this all soldered up, it’s not the prettiest build but I tried my best to just give guidance not do it for him… He was as happy as a claim to see it fire up and work after he built it…I’m a big fan of STEM and hands-on projects, today’s youth really needs to get out from in front of the computer and phone and do stuff with their hands, this was a great transition project as it gets them working with their hands and they get to enjoy that electronics toy afterward, something that helps keep their interest…

Great STEM Toy
This Soldering Game is great way to teach kids how to solder and have a great reward in a game at the end. The parts are good and the price on this for what you get is really awesome. I would highly recommend this for anyone who is getting into soldering and wants to truly see the fruits of their labor once its all done!

Awesome little game project
I did not realize it when I ordered that this has more than one game, I thought it was just a Tetris type game, but it has a few others as well. All the parts needed to build are included, and I think this will be a cool little project to teach my son how to solder.
