So far it has worked great for some small soldering projects.
I got this Batfrtols 60W Digital Display Cordless Soldering Iron Station because I wanted to try it out on some projects that are in our backyard shed. I am re-doing two of the kids’ ride on toys and needed a soldering iron I could easily transport without needing to run 150′ of extension cord etc. This worked perfect since you only need a 18v battery (Makita or adapter). The whole soldering unit has everything you need from temperature adjustment, to a stand/holder and even a little sponge area for cleaning your tip.It has been easy to use and I haven’t had any issues so far with temperatures or anything. It heats up fairly quickly but does take time. It also seems to be pretty consistent in its heat and even comes with 6 different tips for all sorts of projects.This Batfrtols soldering iron has worked well so far for my uses and the only complaints I really have are that it too light for my liking which makes it feel on the less quality side. I wish it had a little more bulk to it weight-wise. Nonetheless, happy with this so far.

Nice for home projects

The digital display is clear and makes temperature adjustments straightforward, with °C/°F conversion for convenience. My husband enjoys Soldering, and he was missing having the stuff at home. This kit has given him the chance to get back into something he enjoys.The included accessoriesâsix extra tips, a solder sucker, tip cleaner, and tweezersâadd great value and versatility. Features like auto-sleep mode and calibration support make it user-friendly and safe.While the 60W power is adequate for most tasks, it might struggle with heavy-duty jobs. Still, itâs an excellent option for portability and everyday use. A solid four stars!

Great Little Portable Soldering Station
The whole design of this portable soldering station is great. It has all of the main features of a bench top station, but with the portability of a Makita battery pack. It’s very simple and easy to operate. You just turn it on, then press the dial to set your desired temp, turn the dial up or down to your desired temp, then press the dial again to lock it in, and it will start climbing up to your set temperature. That’s it, it’s that easy. It also comes with very easy to follow directions for it’s various function settings. The temperature seemed to be accurate or at least definitely accurate enough for the type of soldering this thing is meant for. The sleep function is adjustable and when I tested it, it worked quite well and quickly. The one and only thing I noticed about this whole setup is that when in the holder the soldiering tip touches the spiraled wire. Which isn’t good because it constantly pulls heat from the tip and can pull the soldering off the tip. That is because the black plastic insert isn’t sized right to the wand. It is an easy fix though. All you need to do is, listen to my words now… slowly and slightly, open up the inside of the black plastic insert until the wand fully drops in and then it will center itself correctly in the holder. You can do it many different ways using a round file, sand paper on a dowel rod, a Dremel if you are a psychopath, or however you want to do it. Once again, listen to my words… slowly and slightly, as in creep up on it until it fits correctly! It’s a pretty easy and quick thing to fix. Other than that though it is a great soldering setup overall. It comes with everything needed to get you started for basic soldering. I’m very happy with it and would recommend it.Remember, you will need a Makita 18v battery to power and use this soldering station. That is not included.

No external power for it, needs battery.
Would’ve given 5 stars if it included some way to plug in at a workstation, instead you need to buy a makita battery if you want to use it at all.

Super Handy Soldering Station
This soldering station is well built and super handy. Just attach a Makita 18V cordless tool battery and it is good to go. The cordless feature, no need to have a wall plug available, is very helpful and I love the compatibility with Makita batteries. I already have a few and when I need more, they are easy to find. The set comes with a variety of tips, solder and some other accessories to get it started. The tweezers and the desoldering pump arenât the best quality, but it is nice to have them. The soldering iron heats up fast and stays hot. I like that the there is a dial that allows you to control the temperature. Sometimes, I donât want full heat. The base station is well built, and I expect it last. I like this soldering station, and I recommend it.

Not powerful enough to get a wet solder joint on small wires at maximum setting…
This would barely melt the solder that it came with. I had some lower melting point solder and limped through several connections. Had a fully charged Makita 3 AH battery.
