Soldering Station, Soldering Iron Station Kit
I’ve been wanting to learn how to solder to be able to add little leds and such to these 3D figures that I make for fun. This kit comes with some nice accessories, like a rubber handled screwdriver, a small wrench and some pointy tweezers. It’s an easy and quick assembly, the soldering iron has the ability to adjust the temperature as you need. The soldering iron holder is a tad sketchy as the hot iron tip is exposed, but you just need to be aware and careful. The unit has a auto shutoff which I really like, in case I get distracted and forget to turn it off. It came with everything I needed to get started and I’ve ordered some practice type kits to hone my skills.I am happy with this little soldering station, and it seems like it’s going to be super useful in my endeavor to get good at soldering.

Heats up impressively quickly! Helping hands don’t stay put.
Overall, this is okay. There is nothing all our wrong with it, but there are some definite pluses and minuses.Pros:-This baby gets hot so quickly, I am very impressed!-The cord is long and very flexible. It’s not firm plastic, it’s a softer more flexible plastic than other cords.-You get multiple tips and there is a metal sleeve that holds them in place. -The tip is not threaded, the sleeve is. So the tip will not loosen as you work. -The tip is hollow and the heating core goes inside the tip. It gets HOT and stays hot.-Unit can be set to C/F.-Unit has an auto shut-off function.-Unit has built in sponge holder beneath the iron.-Adjusting the temperature is easy with the +/- buttons.Cons:-It’s light, so it can slide around so it is prone to moving while you work as you pull the cord or set the iron in the holder.-Mine did not come with the screws to attach the solder roll holder attachment to the top.-The Helping-Hands don’t stay put. -They both screw in clock-wise, so as you pull the left one toward you it holds tight. -The right arm will loosen as you pull it toward you, so it loosens. -One of my arms holds any shape want (e.g.: an S or L bend) the other will not cooperate at the base.-When the iron is in the holder the tip of the iron protrudes approximately 1/4″ behold the base. -It is still nearly 3/4″ above the table top, just be careful nothing is behind the unit while it is hot.-Switching F/C is not straight forward, but is explained in the booklet.-Programming is not intuitive, but is described in the instructions. Don’t lose the instructions. The edge of the sponge tray was higher than the plastic base when I received the unit. It was sharp and I couldn’t get it to stay down. The other day I was pressing on it again and it snapped into place. It took a little effort, but I was able to press it down further this time and now it is below the plastic and there is no risk of being cut on the edge. It really is a sharp edge, but there is no problem at all now that it is in place. A man could most likely have popped it into place the first try. My hands are small so I have a bit less leverage than some. When I was unpacking this I felt like it was lacking organization. I think part of that is due to the fact that mine was missing the screws that attach the solder roll holder, but honestly, the unit is so light that I would never use it with the solder on there. It would be nice to store it there though. There is no where to store the accessories. I would give it 5 stars if there were some sort of little bin or pencil-holder type slots for the attachments. Of course, if these were included they would have to be heat resistant or people would melt the housing of their unit. So, for the price point this is excellent. If it were better for the price I would be amazed. My biggest complaint for the price point is that the helping hands are not all that helpful and mine was missing screws. If you need a soldering iron and want more than a basic hand-held unit without paying a ton, this is great.

It heats fast, all in one kit is nice
It heats up super fast! I like the temperature adjustment being a digital display, which makes it easier to use. The variety of tips it came with means it can be used for more than soldering if you need a hot hobby tool. It’s super lightweight (not great) but if you don’t yank it around or anything you shouldn’t notice. It holds the iron without wobbling or anything and since it comes with the sponge and some solder it’s useful right out of the box. It took a little assembly but it was fast. I recommend it.

Great Basic soldiering station..
It comes nicely packed with all the listed accessories, it even has an upgraded Philip screwdriver with a nice rubber grip and 2 very pointy, sharp tweezers [usually found in modeling tool kits]Assembly is super quick, insert and screw the element cable in, and with the supplied screw driver, install the solder dispenser bracket. I did not see any place to store the extra tips or a bracket to hold the solder removal pump. For the tips, I used a small plastic clam-shell box double sided taped to the side to hold the tips. I made a little hoop ring to hold the pump to the station. My only quip is the flexible soldering arms, they are to short to get to stay in close proximity for soldering, they have an area that there is no friction in the arms and the revert to the point there is.. They need to be a few inches longer or include a little plate they could be attached to separately from the soldering station. I am kind of stuck in regards if it is better than my soldering kit in the pouch, which was also a few bucks cheaper with the same functions. The base itself is a great budget or starter soldering station.

Works great, holds the heat well
This soldering station is a welcome replacement to my aging big name soldering station. It works just as well, and holds temperature surprisingly well also. It comes with different sized tips, tweezers, and other tools, and a need de-soldering pump that I love to use when cleaning circuit boards. It has a neat built in iron holder, and an easy to read display, with simple adjustment buttons. This iron heats up quickly and hold the heat during soldering jobs, no need to keep waiting on the iron to regain temperature. Very nice station.

Effective
Nice starter soldering station. Simple to use and adjust the temperature as needed. I was especially attracted to the adjustable arms for holding the work, but I found them disappointing as they didn’t want to stay in place. Perhaps with some more use they may break in, but I’m not optimistic that they will.I especially like the kit comes with a variety of tips.
