decent soldering iron
I bought this a while back to fix the PRNDL lights on my instrument cluster on my GMC truck. The lights were going dim once in a while on their own, sometimes to the point to where you can see them. The soldering points on the circuit board require small soldering points and this soldering iron made that happen.The kit came with real fine solder and the soldering iron has a temperature adjustment that worked great for this delicate work.The quality and durability seem to be okay. Probably not industrial use or constant use, but for the occasional use it should work out great, especially for the affordability.The tips aren’t too bad either and are replaceable.

Shorter barrel gives better control PLUS a 7 year warranty, this will do just fine.
Great little wood burner for small hands and fine details.I bought this woodburner specifically because of the the name Weller but mostly because it has a shorter barrel which is super helpful for smaller details as it gives you a much better control. You can get your hand closer to the surface and it feels closer to drawing than it does with the long barrel types. I had a Weller soldering iron from ages ago that served me well(er), so hopefully this will too.The case is a little cheap and so is the tray that holds everything, but I just slap it all in the case when its done and cool. The various tips are a bonus, my previous wood burner did not have interchangeable tips, just a wedge shape. It was a wally world item that did not last very long.My only concern is long term use and the tips becoming loose, this is a common problem for wood burners and soldering irons that are used heavily. If there was a heavy duty type with a short barrel for near the same price I would have bought that one. However I wanted to keep it under 20 bucks.TIP: Let it cool before swapping tips…yes this is a pain when you are engaged in a project but a hot tip strips easier. On my soldering iron I had a tiny bit of thermal past dabbed on there to make the tip swap easier.It does get hot, not too hot to hold, but you can def feel the heat. If it’s a problem, then I will put some foam insulating tape on it for a softer grip.BUT it has an unbelievable 7 YEAR warranty!! so if it burns out, I guess I am covered. Not bad for under $20PROS:1. Short barrel for extra control. This is it’s best feature.2. Various tips included3. Heats up properly4. Storage case5. Hot knife tip6. 7 Year WarrantyCONS:1. No adjustable temp.2. Cheap case tray, the case is OK, just the accessory tray is a little thin, but no big deal.3. Cord could be longer and more flexible.Notes:yes I know my sketch is poor quality. Worked great for my simple project
Needed a wood burning tool to engrave a wine crate for my mother’s wedding card box. This little tool was perfect for me, having 0 experience with wood burning before. It has different tips for different purposes. I only used the calligraphy tip but it traced lines and filled in small letters perfectly. The only thing I recommend is unplugging it after 30 minutes and letting it cool because the handle can start to heat up and be uncomfortable for your hand. Overall a great tool for beginners with simple projects

Not the quality I had expected
I was a bit disappointed with this one. I had a wood-burning pen as a kid and it was great. This one, however has issues. It does come with a variety of tips which is nice and they are fairly easy to change out; I primarily just use the standard wedge tip however. The problem is how it heats up. I created a small picture on a 7 inch diameter wood piece. In just a few minutes it was hot enough to burn wood. In 15 minutes it was hot enough to be felt in your hand on the handle. In 20 minutes it was hot enough to be a bit uncomfortable. In 30 minutes it was too hot to handle and I had to shut things down. I did finish the image, but it was tricky. My old one had a cork handle and a ceramic insulating piece which held the heating element. This one is just a plastic handle. Come on folks – who puts a plain plastic handle on a thing that heats up? This pen will work for small quick projects, but it was disappointing for what I planned to use it for – art work. (Yes, I had one as a kid, but I would not recommend this for children because of the high burn risk).

Easy to use and works fine
I used this to accessorize the handle of my tomahawk. It worked fine but I have 1 critique. It seems that it starts to cool after about 15 minutes of use. I could tell it wasn’t getting as hot so I’d have to set it down for about 5 minutes to let it warm up again. The handle was hickory so it’s a tough wood that needs alot of heat but I’m sure if you’re using softer woods like pine it would be fine. Overall it worked fine and for the price I wasn’t disappointed.

Wonderful starting kit
This wood burning kit comes with so many options and heats up really fast. It’s easy to use and can do many different styles And options. It has a little stand to rest it on while not in use and cools down fairly quickly for clean up. The price is well worth it if you are looking for a good wood burning kit to learn with.

My old tool, the metal warped when it heated up. This one heats up quickly and the metal seems more durable as it did not lose it’s shape when at the highest heat setting. I really appreciated the stand for the tool as well. There are multiple different attachments which is nice for creating different designs

I’ve used this device to plastic weld my 3D prints together as a preface. I’ve noticed that after some time of use the tip comes loose and I end up having to press it firmly against my concrete floor to screw it back into place. Other than that, this device works great. I love the variety of accessory tips it comes with
