Great for the price! Takes longer to get the staples in the tool then to set in the plastic. Used on abs and acrylic. The snips included arenât that good but the tool is great! Nice little case also.

Happily Surprised – This Worked Like a Champ! Great Purchase
I wasted an hour reading reviews and comparing prices on Amazon.I thought I’d need a higher wattage plastic welder (more is always better, right?). Apparently not!I plastic welded broken scooter panels back together and this worked GREAT!Did an awesome job, repair has held up. I just picked up a junked bumper panel from a body shop to use for more repairs on the scooter. Well worth it! It’s super easy, the directions are simple, so I’d suggest you watch a video on how to use a plastic stapler/plastic welder (even just for safety’s sake).THE VERDICT: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! EASY TO USE, PLENTY OF POWER. HEATED UP QUICKLY, WAS ABLE TO REPAIR AND MOVE ON TO THE NEXT SPOT IN LESS THAN 10 SECONDS.

yes you can mend plastic
The first line of these instructions should read “throw out these instructions”. They are of very little help. Poorly written and taking about things that are not even on the gun. The gun is of good quality, sturdy case and the trigger is either on or off, all it does is heat the wire and turn on a little work light that is of questionable quality. There is a red light that lights to tell you it has power when your plugged in. It is a 110v gun. The wire cutters are cheap and too small, very hard to cut wire with these. They also leave a good amount of wire sticking out. Then there is a cheap disposable blade included. The carrying case is actually nice. Best way to learn this is just get some old plastic trash can or toy and start melting some staples into it, Break it if it is not broken and practice fixing it. From what I gather, you press the hot staple into the plastic and as it is still hot you trim and smooth the melted plastic. It is a inexpensive tool and can make some things usable again.

Arrived not functioning
Non-functioning out of the box. I tried this unit and nothing happens except for the ‘work’ LED lights up on the front when the trigger is pressed. I tried a couple different staples and none of them heat up. I even held a staple in the two contacts to make sure there was a good connection, but still nothing. According to the instructions, either the switch or the heating transformer is broken.The instructions are not great. They refer to “the green LED on the front” but there’s a red LED on the back and a ‘work’ LED on the front that illuminates when the trigger is pressed.
