Excellent airflow and fume trapping
Iâm really pleased with the fit, finish and functionality of this fume eliminator. Works exactly as Iâd hoped and the filters seem sturdy. Excellent product!

Better Soldering Fan Than I Expected
First off, I think people need to be realistic with their expectations… No small table top fan is going to compete with a professional fume hood. Nor is a cheap ‘activated carbon’ filter going to remove all the hazardous fumes released by melting solder and rosin. BUT – if you simply need a solution for preventing the smoke and fumes from going right up your nostrils and into your eyes, this product is a decent option. This fan is slightly smaller than I anticipated at about 5″ square and 3″ deep. But that actually works towards it’s advantage because it doesn’t take up much space and is easily maneuvered close to your workspace. It draws smoke and fumes from within about 6″-8″, which is sufficient for the task. I don’t know why I haven’t invested in something like this 30 years ago – it’s so much more pleasant soldering without choking on the smoke. I position my work, bring the fan over, solder and move the fan back. Easy peasey. I highly doubt the filter is capturing all the smoke and fumes, but really I couldn’t see it blowing out the back either and my bench area did smell a lot less. Seems like it’s a bit more than just blowing the smoke around.Overall, I am pleased with this purchase. It’s not too expensive and does the job.

Big suction
I live in a shoebox and this little fan really does the job. My soldering use was in a small room near a window and I am more than pleased. I soldered an insane amount of the lead and RoHS unleaded solder near it and the pull from a reasonable distance without any issues, I was alarmingly surprised how well it worked. If you keep your tools near it pulls all the âresidualsâ into it no problem. Itâs worth the extra coin in comparison to others slightly cheaper options, this thing is worth it.

stained glass soldering
Iâve been using this unit for about a year for stained glass soldering. It works well to pull the flux smoke away from my face while soldering 60/40 at about 5-6â. Beyond that it wonât grab the smoke. It is lightweight enough if Iâm working on a large panel, I can sit it on top of the glass with no damage. Within 6â there is no flux smell in the whole room,if you make stained glass you know that smell. So I have no scientific way of knowing if itâs working but the lack of smell is a good signð¤£The filter gets kind of yucky over time and I replace with another filter. Iâm not really sure the manufacturers recommendation for filter life. Another review mentioned itâs lack of protection against lead which is not the purpose of this unit. You can get lead exposure in your blood from touching lead and it getting into your body through cuts, eyes or mouth. You cannot vaporize lead at the temperature we work at for stained glass. This unit is good for the flux chemical burning off. I also use a respirator along with this unit since Iâm exposed to the flux smoke daily as a full time glass artist. 4 stars because itâs kind of loud, have to crank up my music to hear over it. Overall a good purchase and fair price.

Works well
Does what I itâs supposed to. Doesnât completely remove the odor from my laser engraver, but traps most of it. It is also very sturdy and well made because itâs made of metal.

Decent Product
I am impressed so far by the build quality. From the picture I was expecting something a little lighter but this feels solidly built and sturdy. The filter is also easy to remove but secure. I also appreciate that it comes with an extra filter and pads for the feet. The fan could be a little quieter but it is in no way loud. My biggest issue is that the power cable is a little short and barely reaches my floor, albeit I so have a kind of high table I work on.I would recommend to the manufacturer to increase the cable length and it would also be nice if it had an adjustable speed. Other than that, I am so far happy with the product.

Very strong
It’s metal. Pulls so tightly for such a small thing. I am a huge fan. I think I’ll be buying this for few friends. 🙂

I was so happy to receive the extractor fan the next day, fast shipping. The fan is not too loud but does a great job. After soldering a big project there was no smoke in the air at all. Works great & great deal.

Un muy buen extractor de vapores de flux. Es recomendando demasiado usar uno como este para evitar problemas de salud a la larga.
Amazon CustomerDecember 27, 2024
It’s a bit loud, but that’s to be expected for the amount of suction you get in such a compact package. It draws in the solder smoke from 6-8 inches away horizontally keeping the smoke out of your face the fumes out of the air.
